MVB Makati Volleyball Beginners Group is in need of regular setters

The MVB Makati Volleyball Beginners group is in need of two (2) natural setters who will join its weekly games. The usual schedule is either Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 730 pm onwards in Makati City. There are already two (2) regular playing teams and the two (2) setters who will make the cut will be deployed to the two (2) existing teams. Interested setters may send an sms to 09178046275. This will be accommodated on a first come first serve basis. As of now, slots are full for attackers.

Game Mechanics

There will be a minimum of 12 players per schedule. Two (2) additional players can be accommodated to a form a team of 7 players each. There will be two (2) teams only.

7 Per Team, How it works

If it’s the player’s turn to serve, he shall serve the ball but he shall not be allowed to return back to the court anymore. He shall be replaced by the 7^th player. He may continue to serve until the ball dies. The server who was replaced by the 7^th player shall now replace the next server. The same process is repeated until the set or game ends.

Two (2) Teams

Based from the confirmed players, the 12-14 players shall be assigned to any of the two teams by the game master. The game master will ensure that each them will have equal number of beginners, intermediate and advanced players compared to the opposing team. Should there be only 15 players, the game master has sole discretion in assigning the 7^th player to the right team. The “replace server system” shall no longer be continued in the event that a player decides to retire or rest. Should there be less than 6 players in one team, the game master shall reshuffle the players to equally distribute beginners, intermediate and advanced players.

1 Set 25 points

Each set will be scored via a rally point system up to 25. Should there be deadlock at 24 all, the team who wins by 2 points will win the set. Should there be a deadlock at 29 all, the first team who reaches 30 will win the set.

We now have a scoreboard

After days of canvassing and looking for the right and perfect scoreboard, we are pleased to announced that we will now be using a scoreboard on our next game. Starting August 14, 2013, each set is scored using a rally system. Should there be deadlock at 24 all, the team must win by 2 point.  Should there still be deadlock at 28 all, the first team to reach 30 points shall be declared as the winner.

How to go to the St. Mary of the Woods School Gym

IF TAKING BUS/JEEP GOING TO LRT BUENDIA

1. Go down at Buendia cor Batangas St.

2. Facing MOA, take left to Batangas St. Walk until you reach Faraday St.

3.  The school is in the corner of Faraday and Batangas

IF TAKING A CAR/CAB
1. From Ayala, turn left at Yakal st.

2. From Yakal St, turn left at South Super highway
3. Drive past Cash n Carry and SM Hypermarket

4. Turn right at Faraday St (first street after SM Hypermarket). Go straight until you reach Faraday St. You will see St. Mary of the Woods after 2-3 blocks.

5. There is parking on the street of the school itself

Majority of our players are beginners. We also welcome girls and beginners. Our new home court now is in St. Mary of the Woods School in Makati City, located in Faraday cor. Batangas St. We play Wednesdays, 730-10:00 pm.

2. Confirmation through SMS. You must be a member. Note that this is only a 2nd priority. If there were members who confirmed through fb event, those will be given top priority over sms.
3. Guests and Friends of MVB are given last priority. Make them join the fb page so they can confirm through fb event.
